 Winter Solstice, Kundalini Yoga Retreat
Care, Stillness and Healing
December 20th, 21st and 22nd
Arrive Friday at 2pm Depart Sunday at 2pm

The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year where the hours of darkness reach its peak. It is a turning point when light begins its long journey towards supremacy. This age old natural cycle is linked deeply to our subconscious, it is a time to embrace deep healing, nurture the very earliest of new beginnings and of course a time of celebration.
Burley-on-the Hill, Rutland is our venue for this retreat. This space is remarkable; it has a grandeur, elegance and peace. Set against the back drop of Rutland water and surrounded by ancient woodland and a Nature reserve deer park. This wonderful home will provide the venue for a deep and healing kundalini yoga retreat that will take us into the Earth Element and the season of Winter. It is the time of hibernation and preparation so that we can emerge into the next cycle rested and ready for the next turn of the wheel.

Great stair

Built in 1695, with ‘The great stair’, beautiful grounds and opulent bedrooms the space offers you the chance to relax and embrace the cosiness of winter . There is a fabulous terrace view across woodland, wild deer and Rutland water in the distance. We shall look to create a space of peace and stillness where you can quietly reflect with detachment on the year about to end. The history of this house is diverse and it has once been a church and a hospital, it has a space that is conducive for healing. We will therefore in addition to yoga have a healing room where you will be able to receive private energy healing or 1-1 consultation on your life path Tarot /numerology.

Driving North up A1
Drivers must turn off the A1 at the junction with A606 sign posted to Oakham. From 100 Chalk Farm Road NW1 8EH Google Maps calculate a time of 1 hour and 52 minutes. This is about right if traffic is light and weather conditions are good.
Trains – Kings Cross via Peterborough to Oakham
http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/timesandfares/KGX/OKM/201213/1400/arr/221213/1400/dep which shows that the following services which can be booked at a return cost of around £52:
Trains – Kings Cross to Peterborough and Taxi to Oakham
An alternative, would be to take the train from Kings Cross to Peterborough and take a taxi from Peterborough to Burley-on-the-Hill. The fast East Coast Train service takes about 45 minutes and can be booked at a return cost of as little as £22.50. A taxi to Burley-on-the-Hill would take about 35 minutes and is about £40 but may be negotiated down to £35 each way. This is more than a train through to Oakham but would be cheaper if 2 or more guests share the taxi and includes a door to door service without any waiting at Peterborough Station.
